Some stories begin with a spark.
Ours began with a seedling.
Rob and Kathy Hanck didn’t set out to transform the way businesses think about their spaces…they just loved plants. What started as a small flower shop in Fort Collins’ Campus West neighborhood over 40 years ago grew into something far more intentional: a company dedicated to bringing the life, beauty, and proven benefits of plants into the places where people work.
They discovered early on that professionally designed interior plantscapes did more than look good. Greener offices meant happier employees, clearer thinking, and healthier environments. Word spread quickly, and before long, Green Thumb Plantscape was serving businesses from Denver to Cheyenne, installing indoor living walls, crafting custom plant designs, and quietly improving the daily experience of thousands of people at work.
In 1997, Rob and Kathy handed the business to their daughter, Sarah, and her husband, Dave Ellis. The transition brought fresh vision alongside deep roots. We expanded design services, added flexible leasing options, and enjoyed a growing reputation across Northern Colorado and beyond.
Today, Sarah, Dave, and the Green Thumb team specialize in biophilic design for commercial spaces: office plant installations, vertical gardens, and indoor living walls throughout Fort Collins, Loveland, Denver, and the surrounding region. We handle every detail, so your team gets all the benefits of a beautifully planted space without lifting a finger.
